Much has happened since the ground-breaking ceremony in January. All the the involved people are working hard for the common goal, in order that we are able to improve the quality of our goods. Here are some impressions.

The IDM (International Marketing Development Association of South Tyrol) has selected Pfitscher as a prime example of a South Tyrolean producer of speck and has produced a video portrait of the company. This portrait is to feature largely on the South Tyrolean website, on television and in magazines / newspapers. We are delighted to be honoured in this way and we invite you to watch the video and learn more about the Pfitscher family and their love of tradition and the butcher’s trade.

For the first time, Pfitscher has taken part in the Culinaria at the Merano Wine Festival, receiving three Rosso Awards. Pfitscher’s Salami with Deer, Salami with Roe Deer and Tirolino all won prizes. We are delighted, and see this a great reward for our efforts to produce meats of the highest quality. The festival took place from 4–8 November in Merano and is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. The Pfitscher team would like to congratulate the festival organisers and wish them continued success for the future.

The Executive Board of FC Bayern Munich and a total of 200 VIP guests were presented with a gift basket containing select Pfitscher products (Tyrolean speck PGI, venison salami, Tirolino smoked meat and Schüttelbrot crispbread made by Franziskaner Bäckerei) at the Allianz Arena in early December. The wooden box was ordered and put together by the head of the VIP area, Ms Sabrina Hilber. And to top it all, Bayern Munich rewarded itself with a 5:0 win against Wolfsburg – what more could we ask for?!

What an honour! Out of 3,000 anonymously purchased meat products, ours were among just 176 that made it into the prestigious guide Salumi d’Italia 2017, published by l’Espresso. What’s more, we were ranked among the 23 best products. Company founder Gottfried Pfitscher accepted the prize at the illustrious Stazione Leopolda in Florence.
